Musée National Marc Chagall

The Marc Chagall national museum has, since 1973, presented the largest collection of Chagall, based around the ensemble created by the painter on the themes of Genesis, Exodus and the Song of Songs. The first room of the museum presents visitors with a group of twelve large format paintings illustrating the first two books of the Old Testament, Genesis and Exodus. The second room, which is smaller, and hexagonal in shape, hosts five compositions on the theme of the Song of Songs, another Old Testament book. The great mosaic reflected in a pond evokes the Prophet Elijah in his chariot of fire. An exhibition room is on the left at the entrance to the museum. It houses temporary exhibitions. At the end of this hall is the museum's auditorium, notable for its stained glass illustrating the creation of the world. The Chagall Museum is available for hosting exceptional events.
